Freestyle Embroidery/Needlepainting

This is a peacock that I designed and stitched for my City & Guilds Embroidery and Design course it is worked on Ivory silk fabric and the threads used are all silk with the odd scattering of a gold metallic thread

This was one of my first attempts at creating a picture with threads, it is worked in a single strand of either DMC or Anchor. The design is one of the Di Van Niekerke miniature cottages http://www.needlecraft.co.za/vanniekerk.htm this is her old website but you can find her new designs here http://www.dicraft.co.za/

This is another of Di Van Niekerk miniature cottages that I worked with single stands of either DMC or Anchor threads

Your peacock is sensational ... and I am so partial to anything by Di Van Neikerk's - these little houses are just beautiful, gorgeous stitching!
